The HSD Range of Professional Power Amplifiers


At Verus Audio the design team have employed only the finest high tolerance audiophile grade components in the Hi-Side drive MOS FET circuitry, with its sonic excellence and proven reliability gives you the best sound possible. The active clip control ensures a completely clean sound at any level, reducing overload distortion and allowing more headroom. For installation or use in any environment these units are unbeatable. There is an HSD amplifier in the range to suit your venue, whether operating in dual or bridge mode they are easy to install and maintain. 

 

 

There are three amplifiers in the HSD series, with output power ranging from 1000, 1500 and 2000 watts rms into 4 ohms. All have generous power supplies with high efficiency toroidal transformer and massive amounts of capacitance (storage power). Enabling these models unrivalled control over the entire frequency range. They are equally at home to driving extremely low bass, superbly defined and articulate mid range or crystal clear high’s. The unit’s power is capable of delivering musical transients far in excess of the amplifiers rated output without distortion and any risk of driving the speakers with a clipped signal. All three models are housed in purpose built 2U chassis and are supplied as standard with vertical led level metering. There are also options for horizontal led or analogue VU metering. Remote level and turn on or standby control, are to order only.

Overall Protection
  1. Soft start with surge protection which limits in rush current to < 5 Amps

  2. Time delayed output connection to speaker loads

  3. Auto thermal and manual control for 2 speed fan

  4. Separate channel thermal safety shutdown, in case of continuous over driving. Channels will not re-set on temp drop, thus eliminating toggling which could normally result in damaging speakers

  5. Shutdown sensing circuit which monitors for improper load conditions on the separate channel outputs.

Enclosure

The case has been specifically designed around the standard 2U rack mounting specification to give maximum power for the smallest space possible without compromising quality or functionality. The cases are finished in an attractive mottled black powder paint, all except the sides, which are anodised.
